One of the hottest things on the net today is VRML, the Virtual
Reality Modeling Language. VRML allows internet users to create 3-dimensional
interactive web sites. At the time of this writing, VRML viewing is still
a bit slow, but viewers are available for all platforms (compared to Java,
which has received much media attention) and several point-and-click VRML
Builders are available for all platforms. Again, I compare this to
the much-hailed Java, which is accessible
only to experienced programmers on limited platforms. However, VRML so
far is static; however, this is to soon to change with the integration
of Java (The
Moving Worlds Proposal)
